An agonist for the orphan receptor chemoattractant receptor FPRL1 and FPRL2.
Different chemoattractants induce leukocyte infiltration and activation
through binding to G protein-coupled receptor. FPRL1, and FPRL2 belong
to the N-formyl peptide chemoattractant G protein-coupled receptor
family (FPR). Two synthetic hexapeptides Trp-Lys-Tyr-Met-Val-Met-NH2
(WKYMVM) and Trp-Lys-Tyr-Met-Val-D-Met-NH2 (WKYMVm) specifically bind
to FPRL1 and FPRL2.
Its L or D conformers also induce phosphorylation and internalization of
FPRL1. The data indicated that neutrophils are activated by WKYMVM
through FPRL1 and FPRL2 is a chemotactic receptor transducing signals in
myeloid cells.
